For many parents, a midwife is that person too.
After years of dreaming about a service where families could be heard, build confidence and truly understand their options, Woven Midwifery was founded in September 2025. Together, Lana, Ansie and Aly bring more than 50 years of combined experience, guiding families through one of life’s biggest transitions with knowledge, evidence and compassion.
Collectively, we’ve cared for thousands of Fraser Coast women and families through pregnancy and birth, witnessing the power of education, continuity of care and trusted relationships.
At Woven Midwifery, we believe informed families are empowered families. Knowledge doesn’t remove uncertainty, but it gives families the confidence to navigate it. Every appointment is an opportunity to listen, explain, interpret evidence and help families understand their choices – at their own pace and in a way that suits how they learn.
We’re proud to offer bulk-billed first trimester care for all eligible women on the Fraser Coast. As Endorsed Midwives, we can order blood tests and ultrasounds, prescribe pregnancy medications, and coordinate referrals to other healthcare professionals.
Our services span the entire journey into parenthood, from preconception planning and personalised pregnancy care to antenatal education, labour and birth support – including home birth and hospital birth support – postnatal home visits for up to six weeks, lactation consultations and babywearing education. Through each stage, education and empowerment remain at the heart of everything we do.
Education doesn’t always happen in a classroom. Sometimes it happens around a kitchen table, in a birth suite, or during a 2 am phone call with a new parent. At Woven Midwifery, we believe education is one of the greatest gifts we can offer – because when families understand, they feel empowered. And that can change the entire experience of becoming parents.
