Noosa is famous for its boutique lifestyle, pristine beaches, and locals that glow under sunkissed fashion however there is also a wilderness calling for exploration along the Everglades of Lake Cootharaba.

Here you will discover a peaceful tranquillity which takes you down memory lane of school camp as you drive into the towering trees surrounding dorm facilities and fenced wildlife.

Habitat Noosa Everglades Ecocamp features accommodation like no other with family sized cabins that exhibit impressively sized local Kangaroos grazing on surrounding grass. Here you can also settle into the outskirts of walking trails in a safari-tent or bushland campsites positioned under the gum trees for you to unpack your own accommodation and facilities.

Once you have settled into your accommodation, follow the faint sounds of local musicians to the beer garden and bistro where you can indulge in locally sourced produce and the fresh onsite brewery. You can choose to cozy up beside the warm glow of the indoor fireplace or relax outdoors beneath the canopy of trees while young children dance and play to the shimmers of the afternoon sun.

There are plenty of bush and coastal short walking tracks surrounding the Noosa Everglades, including historical remnants of the Luya & Co Timber Mill and a township settlement from back in the late 1800s. Hidden amongst the native shrubbery, the Mill Point Cemetery offers a quiet reminder of the region’s pioneering past while glimpses of Lake Cootharaba appear between trees as you loop around the grounds.

Lake Cootharaba itself invites visitors to slow down and reconnect with nature. Its shallow shorelines create the perfect setting for swimming, paddleboarding and soaking up the peaceful surroundings. Here you can hire a boat for the family to take a tour of nearby picnic spots, including Harry’s Hut.

Early risers gather at sunrise to witness the lake transform beneath colourful skies, with moments of connection, cuddled up with blankets, warm coffees, and soft smiles that capture the true magic of the Noosa Everglades. You may be lucky enough to witness the kangaroos jumping across the foreshores too.
