When we started Our Sparky, it was never just about electrical work. For us, it was about building something meaningful for our family while creating a business that people genuinely felt comfortable calling and could depend on.
Like many small businesses, Our Sparky started out of our garage with a lot of hard work, long days, and a vision of creating something we could truly be proud of. In 2025, we moved to Hervey Bay, seeking a better lifestyle for our family and the opportunity to grow within a community we genuinely loved.
Since relocating, the support from the local community has honestly meant so much to us. One of the most rewarding parts of running Our Sparky has been the relationships we’ve built with homeowners, local businesses, property managers, and real estate agencies throughout the region.
We work across domestic electrical, air-conditioning, smoke alarms, and appliance installations, but what matters most to us is the experience people have when working with our business. We know inviting tradespeople into your home or business requires trust, and that’s something we never take lightly.
We’ve always wanted Our Sparky to feel approachable, reliable, and honest. Whether we’re helping a family improve the comfort of their home, assisting a local business, or supporting property managers with ongoing maintenance, we genuinely care about providing good service and making the process as stress-free as possible.
Living and working in Hervey Bay has given us an even greater appreciation for the lifestyle and sense of community this region offers. Moving here allowed us to slow down a little, focus more on family, and build a business that reflects the values most important to us.
One of the moments that really made everything feel worthwhile was hearing our radio ad on 101.9 for the first time and seeing how excited our kids were. Watching them feel proud of what we’ve built reminded us why we started in the first place.
As the business has grown, we’ve also been incredibly lucky to have great people around us. Having Ryan on our team has played a huge role in our journey, and we genuinely couldn’t do it without him.
Looking back now, it’s amazing to see how far things have come from the garage days. While the business has grown significantly, the heart behind it hasn’t changed. We still genuinely care about the people we work for and feel incredibly grateful for every customer who chooses to support our family business.
For us, success has never just been about growing a business; it’s about building something meaningful for our family while becoming part of a community we’re proud to now call home.
