Tannins’ exclusive Italian menu night was another huge success, tickets were sold out in days. The live music from our house band was brilliant and well received. The food and wine match were also spot on.

We are now thinking ahead for our next gourmet evening which will be centred around France with a “Menu Gastronomique” consisting of 5 courses and including a fine selection of 4 wines to perfectly match the cuisine.

We are taking the pragmatic approach and pitching a time line in line with current repairs to the building’s power as we did take a big hit during the recent flooding, but of course we will come out fighting and be bigger and better than before. (Date to be confirmed online)

As a classically French trained chef, I will be using all my extensive culinary skill to ensure a perfectly balanced evening of fine food , fine wine and great company.

Did you know that the original classical French menu consisted of no fewer than 17 courses? Starting with an appetiser and finishing with a beverage and would take all day to complete?

Here at Tannins our philosophy is one of sociability, where we believe that one of our gourmet platters shared between friends, encourages great conversation as a more relaxed and social way to enjoy food. Instead of being focused on the one plate of personal food in front of you, you are sharing whilst interacting with each other, altogether more pleasurable.

There is of course an exception to the above philosophy and that is when we have a gourmet night, where everyone eats the same cuisine at the same time so there is no food envy.
