Have you faced any barriers in your career due to being a woman? If so, how did you overcome them?
There is always some sort of barrier when it comes to business, I am not sure if they are directly related to sex, age or learning experience. We are taught as women to be more gentle and submissive. I think naturally that was never something I fully understood or accepted just because I am a female. The biggest thing when it comes to business is the support network you surround yourself with. It’s incredibly important to have people who are in your corner and lift you up when you’re having those hard moments.
How can we encourage more women to pursue entrepreneurship or senior leadership roles in their careers?
I think we are naturally starting to progress in this direction. If we teach young women to go for what is truly passion driven for them, it will naturally progress into entrepreneurship or leadership roles.
What is the most important message you want to send out to young women thinking about their careers?
Ask for a mentor, go and talk to people who are in the roles you want to be in. A lot of women want to share their knowledge and will happily guide and support, just put yourself out there!
