Dr Anthony Murray, MBBS GDAAD FRACS FAOrthA, who will be joining our team from February 2022.
As Australia’s first Indigenous Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr. Anthony Murray brings a great deal of experience having completed his specialty orthopaedic training in New South Wales, culminating in his admission as a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association. Dr Murray graduated from his medical training at James Cook University in Townsville and Cairns in 2012.
Dr Murray went on to complete a subspecialty Hip and Knee Fellowship on the Sunshine Coast with Dr Daevyd Rodda, and further post-fellowship training in other centers with highly regarded Orthopaedic Joint Replacement and Trauma specialists in various prestigious hospitals in Sydney, Melbourne, and Newcastle.
DR MURRAY’S SPECIALISATIONS
He specialises in delivering the highest quality of surgical results in hip and knee replacement surgery, arthroscopic knee surgery, and orthopaedic trauma surgery. Dr Murray employs techniques including Direct Anterior Approach hip replacement, Kinematic Aligned Knee Replacements and Patient Specific Instrumentation, delivered with his team in a caring, compassionate, and professional environment to reduce patients’ pain, restore function and improve their quality of life.
“It’s evident through the relationship formed with my patients, and their post-operative outcomes, that my passion is to see that they have the best quality of life and not have their pathology hinder them from movement, and what they love to do,” Dr Murray said.
“I’m extremely excited to immerse myself in the Sunshine Coast, Wide Bay and surrounding areas and look forward to meeting and working with you in the coming months.”
MAKING AN APPOINTMENT WITH DR MURRAY
Dr Murray accepts referrals via fax, email or medical objects. He will be consulting from the Sunshine Coast Orthopaedic Group rooms at The Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital, Buderim Private Hospital and Nambour Selangor Private Hospital. He will also travel fortnightly to Hervey Bay, Bundaberg, Gympie, and Northlakes and is available with minimal to no wait times to see patients in his consulting suites at these locations. Dr Murray also offers tele-health services at all locations.
