There is something deeply satisfying about walking into your backyard and picking vegetables, herbs or salad greens that you have grown yourself. You know where they came from, what went into the soil and, importantly, what didn’t go onto them.
This is at the heart of Fraser Coast Garden Bed Co.
The idea began when my wife and I were looking for a local business to build custom hardwood raised garden beds for our own property. We wanted something beautifully made, substantial and suited to our space, rather than a mass-produced, one-size-fits-all product. After searching locally, we couldn’t find anyone who wanted to build the custom raised garden beds we had in mind.
We realised there was an opportunity to help other Fraser Coast families create beautiful, productive outdoor spaces, and Fraser Coast Garden Bed Co. was born.
With rising food costs and supply chain disruptions, growing some of your own food can provide greater independence and confidence. You don’t need acres of land or to become completely self-sufficient. Even one or two garden beds can produce fresh herbs, lettuce, tomatoes and seasonal vegetables right outside your kitchen door.
We support natural and organic gardening practices that encourage healthy soil, composting and beneficial insects, while reducing reliance on unnecessary synthetic chemicals.
We also believe productive gardens should look beautiful and be built to last. That’s why every garden bed is handmade using carefully selected, hand-picked hardwood timber. Each bed showcases the timber’s natural grain, texture, and character, making it a backyard feature as well as a place to grow food.
Our mission is simple: to help people grow good food, close to home. It’s about spending more time outdoors, teaching children where food comes from and enjoying the satisfaction of harvesting something you’ve grown.
