A Place Where Women Are Truly Heard

Wide Bay Womens Healath Centre

Wide Bay Women’s Health

Life doesn’t always slow down when we need it to.

Between work, family, relationships, and everything in between, it can be hard to find a space where you feel genuinely supported… and understood. That’s exactly what the Wide Bay Women’s Health Centre offers.

More than just a service, the Centre is a place where women can take a breath, feel safe, and begin to move forward in a way that feels right for them. Whether you’re going through a big life change, feeling overwhelmed, or simply looking for guidance, this is a space where your voice matters.

At the heart of the Centre is a simple idea, that every woman deserves to have a say in her own journey. Here, you’re not told what to do or how to feel. Instead, you’re supported to make decisions that align with your life, your experiences, and your goals.

From the moment you walk through the door, there’s a sense of calm. It’s welcoming, it’s respectful, and it’s designed to meet you where you are. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out. You can come as you are, take things at your own pace, and know that you will be met with understanding.

The support available is broad, but always personal. There are dedicated services for Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and South Sea Islander women, along with resources for women from diverse cultural backgrounds. The Centre also offers access to a well-stocked resource library, providing information on a wide range of topics that affect women at all stages of life.

Workshops are held regularly, covering areas such as emotional well-being, mental health, and practical life skills. These sessions are designed not only to inform, but to empower, giving women tools they can take into their everyday lives. Just as importantly, they create opportunities for connection, reminding women that they are not alone in their experiences.

For those needing deeper support, the Centre provides free and confidential counselling with qualified professionals. These sessions are tailored to you, offering a safe and private space to talk, reflect, and work through whatever you’re facing. Whether it’s anxiety, grief, trauma, or simply feeling stuck, support is there when you need it.

And it doesn’t stop there. The Centre also helps connect women with other local services when needed, ensuring no one is left to navigate on their own.

Come and meet Claude, a new (and very lovable) face at the Centre. He is a therapy dog in training.

Claude might not hear the world the way we do, but he certainly feels it. This gentle little poodle is deaf, which means he experiences life through connection, touch, and presence, and he has plenty of love to give.

He’s still learning, but already enjoys quiet cuddles, soft pats, and simply being close. His calm, affectionate nature brings comfort to those around him, often without doing much at all. With time and training, Claude will become a beautiful support companion for the women who visit the centre, offering quiet reassurance in moments when it’s needed most.

You might just find him curled up nearby, happily keeping someone company, a gentle reminder that sometimes, support doesn’t need words.
